Mine is not 5 speed but did almost hit 140.....138-139, so close but could not get the needle to cover the 140 mark.

I am very curious what other 3/S top speeds are. Mine is all stock....engine

 

I've done 145+ in a stock 94 base model 5speed.

I think I read someone where that the governor on an SL is around 160. I haven't done it, so I'm not sure if it's true.

But I also read on here that our cars are geared to be able to do 200mph.

 

for the last time, our cars do not have a govener (unless she sits in the passenger's seat) You just run out of power so you cannot go any faster... i have gone ~130 in my SOHC Automatic and 145+ in the vr4

 

im my 94 RT i have hit 155 running from some asshole cop (trying to keep up with some vr-4's and TT's) Blackbird002 should remember this

I hit 145+ in my VR-4, after that I had to slow down to catch my exit ramp .. still had a lot more to push though. I try to avoid having to Speed up and brake fast cause my stock brakes and rotors shake so bad when stopping from so fast! Time to upgrade eh?

the difference b/w the TT and NA is that the TT will walk right up to those speeds without ANY problem at all... while the NA's run out of breath and just inch up after about 105 or so

Yeah I know how you feel man.... Fastest I've ever gone was only 130 ... but I was high in the rpm range in 4th so...

bro, I'm not sure who's car you're talking about, but I hit that when I'm just cruising and not paying attention sometimes..

I've taken my stock 1991 3000GT SL to 140 when beating a Lexus SC 400 down the highway...I was surprised the hot black girl could keep it up like she did......though she did back down at around 130....

it sure was tough looking at the guages at that speed though.

The VR-4 has to be a lot quicker than that, plus I think I could've done at least 150 in the SL if I had the balls ..

anyone have the actual figures for both the stock SL and VR-4?

yes, i can't get it past 130.. my stealth... my vr4 won't get upto 150 without a fight

 

am I crazy for thinking this? if I can get my SL to 140 with relative ease, shouldn't the VR4 blow that number away..what am I missing here...

agtblank - You have trouble pushing your VR4 to 150 after OR before your mods??

before mods... completely stock on the 401 in Canada an hour after i bought the car... i wasn't even driving

 

5-speed of course..actually, at the time, I had no intake...I'm really surprised these speeds are considered high....
